The Block contestants have turned their shared house into a contested space, with arguments intensifying after two separate teams independently invited family members to stay without seeking approval from the rest of the group.
The newest clash erupted when the occupants of House 1 and House 3, the groups led by Adam, Jolene, Lisa and Rosco, brought three outsiders into the residence: Adam’s son Kai, his friend Nick, and Rosco’s father Jim. Their arrival sparked immediate criticism from the other six participants, who said they had never been consulted and now faced a cramped environment in a home that was already operating at capacity.
Chantel, a contestant who has repeatedly expressed irritation about the additional people, described the situation as “disgusting.” She highlighted the limited amenities, noting that a single toilet on the upper floor was now required by five occupants, which she said exemplified the growing pressure on communal facilities. “They’re not contestants, they shouldn’t be living with us in the first place,” she asserted during a heated exchange.
The official guidelines, known as The Block Bible, permit participants to enlist family or friends for manual labor and specify a compensation rate of $25 per hour. The document, however, remains silent on whether those helpers are allowed to reside in the contestants’ shared dwelling.
Courtney, who heads House 2, called an impromptu meeting to demand clarification. She asked the group to confirm whether the presence of non-contestant residents constituted an unfair advantage. The discussion dissolved without a definitive answer, leaving the participants feeling more unsettled than before.
Jolene later responded to the criticism by suggesting that the dissent stemmed from jealousy. She remarked that the other women were “grasping at straws because they’re not always on top, and when they’re not on top they’re pissed off.” Her comment added another layer of tension to the already volatile atmosphere.
As night fell, the mood grew noticeably colder. Adam confronted Rick and Tayla, accusing them of behaving “like a pack of dogs” rather than addressing the underlying concerns directly. Tayla attempted to lighten the mood with a joke about not having pink eye yet, but Jolene labeled the remark “derogatory and rude.” Wyatt later summed up the collective sentiment by stating, “We’re ready to leave.”
