NAREDCO Maharashtra plans to attract investment commitments exceeding ₹10,000 crore for India’s real estate sector at its upcoming Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors’ Summit 2026 (REIIS 2026) in Mumbai.

The summit, scheduled for September 3, will focus on strategic capital, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, PropTech, and global investment partnerships.

India’s Real Estate Sector: A Key Economic Driver

India’s real estate sector has become a significant contributor to the country’s economy, with a market size of $650 billion in 2025 and a 7.3% share of the national GDP. Projections indicate that it could reach a staggering $10 trillion by 2047, with its GDP contribution potentially rising to 20%.

REIIS 2026: Redefining India’s Growth Story

REIIS 2026, themed ‘RE-Defining India’s Growth Story’, aims to facilitate discussions on foreign and domestic institutional capital flowing into Indian real estate. It will also feature the announcement of an International Business & Finance Center (IBFC) in Nagpur by the Government of Maharashtra.

The proposed Naveen Nagpur IBFC, spanning 1,710 acres, is envisioned as a landmark development that will establish a new business and investment destination for Nagpur and Central India. Shri Sanjay Meena IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, NMRDA, said, “Naveen Nagpur IBFC is envisioned as a landmark development that will create a new business and investment destination for Nagpur and Central India.”

The investment agenda aligns with Maharashtra’s infrastructure-led development initiatives, including Mumbai 3.0, transit-oriented corridors, and urban redevelopment. NAREDCO Maharashtra targets ₹10,000 crore in foreign direct investment and domestic institutional capital, focusing on attracting capital from international institutional investors across markets like Japan, Korea, and the Middle East.

REIIS 2026 will gather policymakers, global and domestic institutional investors, banking executives, developers, AI and PropTech companies, and other real estate professionals. Discussions will cover capital flows, urbanization, alternative financing, technology adoption, and strategies for expanding investment into India’s built environment.

The day-long program includes a Power Breakfast on “Mumbai 3.0: The Innovation City”, followed by an AI and PropTech Pavilion. Panel discussions will explore alternative capital, cross-border expansion, AI integration, and new approaches to real estate liquidity.

JLL India will release an exclusive report on Mumbai’s redevelopment at the event.

Prominent participants are expected, including Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra; Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises; Gautam Singhania, Chairman, Raymond Realty; and other industry leaders.

Mr. Kamlesh Thakur, President, NAREDCO Maharashtra, stated, “REIIS 2026 comes at a key juncture as Maharashtra leads transformative infrastructure and urban development.”

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman, NAREDCO India, highlighted the connection between India’s growth narrative and its infrastructure and real estate sectors. He said, “India’s growth narrative is closely linked to the trajectory of its infrastructure and real estate sectors.”
