Anna Raymond was ready to make the switch from renting to owning a home last spring. But after five failed offers, she and her husband decided to take a step back from house hunting.

Then, in December, their real estate agent presented an offer too good to pass. A home in Longmont was up for sale, and the seller was willing to offer a 2-1 interest buydown rate.

The concession would lower the Raymonds’ 5.75% contract interest rate of 2% in the first year and 1% in the second year, so they’ll pay just 3.75% interest in the first year

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus realtor is projecting a steady central Ohio housing market in 2023 after inflation and a series of increased mortgage rates in 2022.

Central Ohio home prices will remain in the same range as 2022 even as interest rates are anticipated to continue rising, according to Columbus Realtors President Patti Brown-Wright. Her forecast comes as the annual inflation rate in the US fell to 6.5% last month and Columbus home prices decreased for five consecutive months.

Female realtors, sellers warned of man making threats

WARWICK, RI (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) is warning about a man allegedly harassing and making threats toward realtors and sellers, many of whom are women.

In the warning posted on its website Tuesday, the association referred to social media posts about a man claiming to be from Massachusetts who had been harassing “realtors and at least two sellers with odd behavior.”
