Brooklyn Listings Six Months Later: Two Sold

This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focused on homes in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Midwood, and Prospect Park South. How did they fare?

With five distinct areas and Deco details such as arched doorways, this roomy studio offers vintage charm and the perk of being located in Prospect Lefferts Gardens not far from Prospect Park. It appears to be in move-in condition, with room for creative updates such as paint in the kitchen and bathroom. This former Co-op of the Day entered contract in April.

In Midwood, this early 20th century standalone house has bay windows, a wide front porch and garage. The circa 1940 tax photo shows shingles and a jaunty striped awning. Interior details include woodwork, pocket doors, a columned wood mantel and bracketed plaster arches. This former Open House Pick entered contract in March.

This early 20th century Prospect Lefferts Gardens limestone has had a renovation that updated the main kitchen and added a second one to the garden level while leaving some of the period details in the house intact. Located in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, the limestone is one of a row of five designed by architect Charles Infanger for developer William Reineking. This former House of the Day sold in April for $2.15 million, which was $50,000 under the asking price.

Even in a neighborhood filled with architectural beauties, this Prospect Park South standalone catches the eye with its fine Colonial Revival details and pleasing proportions. In the same family hands since the 1960s, there have been interior changes over the decades, but there are still some period details intact along with a generous amount of living space. In addition to front and rear yards, the property includes a private driveway and a one-car detached garage. This former House of the Day sold in March for the asking price of $3.295 million.
