Trends Reveal Record Demand for Student Accommodation

The shortfalls in student accommodation have been especially detrimental to international students – those coming from countries with a weaker currency have found accommodation increasingly unaffordable, for example.

Yet in 2022 – the UK issued nearly 500,000 study visa grants for international students – this marks an impressive 81% rise when compared to pre-pandemic figures.

Indian nationals enrolled into UK universities saw a 307% surge (105,278) compared to pre-COVID 2019 figures (34,261).

While the intake of Chinese students tapered down slightly – there has also been a significant increase in students coming from other countries such as Nigeria and Bangladesh.

Crossmark Global Holdings Inc. lifted its holdings in shares of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE:ARE – Get Rating) by 8.3% during the 4th quarter, Holdings Channel.com reports. The firm owned 7,887 shares of the real estate investment trust’s stock after purchasing an additional 605 shares during the period. Crossmark Global Holdings Inc.’s holdings in Alexandria Real Estate Equities were worth $1,149,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

Murdaugh items from South Carolina estate Moselle up for auction as home sellers

Items from the Murdaugh family’s South Carolina hunting estate, where Alex Murdaugh shot his wife and son in June 2021, are being auctioned off Thursday in Pembroke, Georgia.

Bidding will take place in person only at Liberty Auction in Pembroke.

“Here is a glimpse into a prominent estate picked up in Colleton County, South Carolina,” the auction said in a March 18 Facebook post, along with photos of the furniture. “We still have a lot of arrangements to do but we can’t wait to see everyone Thursday night!”
