MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. — The Wisconsin Realtors Association released its February report. It shows home sales are down nearly 30%. But that doesn’t mean they are falling. However, a Redfin report shows Milwaukee is the city with the highest home sales prices in the country.

Man Dies of Stroke After a Realtor Failed to Call Help

Randy Vaughan suffered a stroke at home in North Carolina and later died in a hospice.
A realtor had seen him lying on the floor of his home but had not called for help.
The realtor wrote in a report that he was unsure if Vaughan was dead or had drunk too much.

Local realtors said despite the number sales cooling off, prices have continued to climb rising more than 6% in the last year to more than $36,000.

MINNEAPOLIS — The shift in the Twin Cities housing market in 2022 was as stark as the shift in seasons.

HORACE — Area home buyers, Realtors and builders will look to make a case for government officials in hopes of reestablishing Horace’s tax abatement program, which was not renewed after it expired on Jan. 1.

Horace’s tax abatement program, which is similar to that authorized by the North Dakota Century Code, gives buyers of new homes a two-year break on property taxes for certain new single-family residential properties and condominiums and townhouses. According to state law, the maximum exemption allowed is $150,000 of true and full valuation of improvements only and land is still taxable.
