Actor Steven Seagal has been given land by authorities in the prestigious Rublevka area near Moscow that was previously allocated for the care of children with cancer, according to a report.

The Gorki Holding Co., which Seagal has a 26 percent stake in, received a huge plot of land in the Odintsovo district, according to Russian news outlet Baza. Mom charged in newborn’s death suffers mental struggles that may complicate court case: expert

A Winnipeg mother charged in the death of her newborn daughter has a low IQ and little understanding of consequences, a court was told during a previous sentencing hearing — making the current case against her both rare and potentially complex, a legal expert says.

Three weeks ago, police announced Jeanene Rosa Moar had been charged with manslaughter and concealing the body of a child after investigators said they discovered the infant’s body in a garbage bin on a north Winnipeg back lane.

At a sentencing in 2016, a Manitoba provincial court heard Moar had significant cognitive and adaptive functioning

Home office background – top 7 ways to create a professional look

Working from home has become a new reality for many people and that reality means adapting your home office space in general and the home office background more specifically.

If your work requires you to use Zoom, MS Team or any other video conferencing, you must think about what your work space looks like to your clients and colleagues.

As the line between professional and personal space is becoming more blurry, I believe in the importance of preserving a distinct, private, professional space, both for your clients, coworkers, and your own wellbeing.

As a professional home stager/decorator, I help clients

Putin illegally annexes Ukraine land; Kyiv seeks NATO entry

KYIV, Ukraine — Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties Friday to illegally annex more occupied Ukrainian territory in a sharp escalation of his war. Ukraine’s president countered with a surprise application to join the NATO military alliance.

Putin’s land-grab and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s signing of what he said is an “accelerated” NATO membership application sent the two leaders speeding faster on a collision course that is cranking up fears of a full-blown conflict between Russia and the West.

Putin vowed to protect newly annexed regions of Ukraine by “all available means,” a renewed nuclear-backed threat he made at a Kremlin

the best tips for optimal sale!

Staging a Dining room for sale might not be as obvious as it seems.

Let me clarify: I’ll be using the term ‘dining room’ loosely as referring to any dining area in your home.

Some houses have a formal dining room and, possibly, an informal everyday eating area in the kitchen.

Generally there seems to be a trend toward fewer ‘formal’ spaces, such as a separate dining room and a formal living room so, unless you have a big house, the urban living trends are toward smaller, functional spaces.

Nevertheless, dining space is one of the important areas of your

Edmonton lawyer’s conduct led to collapse of Northlands case, court documents show

A multi-million dollar wrongful dismissal and defamation trial collapsed because of the conduct of the lawyer representing former Edmonton Northlands cashiers, court documents show.

This week, CBC News opposed an application to permanently seal affidavits plaintiffs had filed about Glenda Pidde, who represented 19 fired Northlands parking services cashiers for more than six years, and a publication ban on a mistrial application.

“The public has a right to know about the reasons for the outcome of the case,” said CBC lawyer Tess Layton during oral arguments Wednesday.

Six sworn affidavits were prepared. The plaintiffs’ new lawyer asked Court of Queen’s

Howard was a great but often overlooked American watchmaker

Over the years this column has covered a number of clock and watchmakers, some famous and others less so. Nearly everyone has heard of Rolex, and many other names are nearly as familiar: Omega, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, to name just a few.

And not all are from Switzerland, that great land of timekeeping. American brands such as Bulova, Elgin, Hamilton and Waltham have all made their own marks. Nonetheless, there are literally hundreds of other makers whose stars have risen and set in the firmament of horological history.

Today let’s take a gander at one outstanding but often
