India set to launch historic Moon mission Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 is due for lift-off on Friday afternoon from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, an island off India’s south-eastern coast

India is set to launch its third Moon mission, aiming to be the first to land near its little-explored south pole.

The Chandrayaan-3 craft with an orbiter, lander and a rover is due to lift off at 14:35 on Friday (09:05 GMT) from Sriharikota space centre.

The lander is due to reach the Moon on August 23-24, space officials said.

Land Rover is recalling 500 Range Rover SUVs in the US

Land Rover unveiled the fifth generation of its luxury SUV last year to some pretty good reviews. The latest and greatest Range Rover packed in oodles of luxury trimmings, a pristine finish and, unfortunately, a row of seats that wasn’t welded together correctly. Now, affected models are being recalled so Land Rover can fix the issue.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A goose on the loose caused a brief delay during the National League playoff game between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

The bird flew into Dodger Stadium and landed in shallow right field with two outs in the eighth inning. It sat on the grass as Gavin Lux of the Dodgers singled to right.
