Land Rover recalls 500 Range Rover SUVs with improperly welded seat frames

Land Rover has issued a recall that applies to 500 units of the last-generation Range Rover built during the 2022 and 2023 model year. The SUVs included in the campaign were manufactured with a second-row seat frame whose latch may not have been correctly welded.

Assigned recall number 23V-252 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall exclusively affected seven-seater Range Rover models built between February 11 and June 10, 2022. The Biden administration announced late Tuesday that it would reverse a Trump-era land swap deal facilitating the construction, in an Alaska wilderness area, of a potentially life-saving road opposed by environmental groups.

The Department of the Interior (DOI) withdrew the land exchange — which had been finalized by former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt in 2019 and aggressively defended in court by the Biden administration — and explained that it contained procedural flaws and wasn’t consistent with agency policy . More details on the snowplow accident that landed Jeremy Renner in the hospital have been released by the Nevada sheriff’s office that oversaw the actor’s rescue.

Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in a snowplow accident in Reno, Nevada, earlier this month after attempting to help his nephew with a car issue, according to an incident report filed by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.
